This Website is intended to offer an indication of the range of security services offered by Crosby Intruder Alarms. If you have a specific requirement that is not listed above, please do not hesitate to contact us with your problem, if there is a solution, we will find it for you.
Crosby Intruder Alarms are firmly committed to quality, and to this end are, through SSAIB, a UKAS accredited company.
In the late eighties, we became an approved installer with the IAAI trade organisation, because we wanted to give ourselves credibility. Unfortunately, following the death of the Chief Executive, the organisation ceased to trade. We looked around for an alternative, and decided on the AISC. We are proud to be one of the first five companies to be approved by the AISC, proud also because we where an approved company prior to approval being made a condition of remaining on the Merseyside Police recognised installer list. In May 2001, the AISC merged with two of the other Inspectorates to form the Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB).
Roy Williams used to be a Skills for Security (Formerley SITO Security Industry Training Organisation) approved Internal Verifier & Assessor who assessed engineers from UK based companies for their NVQ level 2 & level 3, he was one of two Internal Verifiers for the organisation. He also teachers a City & Guilds 1853 course on Security, Fire & Emergency Systems, Installation & Maintenance.
He teaches a City & Guilds Course in Alarm Installation for North West Training Council and has delivered bespoke courses on Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Fire Systems & Access Control for corporate clients of NWTC.
In 2009 Roy was approached to become a Tutor for Tavcom Training, one of the leading trainers for the security industry in the world. They operate from their training centre in Bishops Waltham, Hampshire and send trainers regularly to the USA, Canada, Austrailia, South Africa, the UAE, India, Pakistan and throughout Europe. They will provide custom courses for you either at their training centre or at your premises. Roy teaches courses on Intruder Alarm Systems, Intruder Alarm Design, Intruder Alarm Legislation, Fire Alarms, CCTV & Access Control.
Furthermore, he is the former Technical Director of the Alarms Inspectorate & Security Council, (AISC) one of the original group of Inspectorates approved by ACPO, (the Association of Chief Police Officers) and has now been proposed to the board of directors of SSAIB. He has been asked to help in the writing of the new City & Guilds course for security alarm installation, to encompass the proposed European Standard EN50131.
In 2013, together with another well known security industry figure, Martin Kane they formed The Security Industry Training Association (SITA) to act as Consultants and Trainers to the Security Industry. They offer NVQ Qualifications for “Experienced” Engineers that do not have a qualification to date, which could be a problem if the requirements of BS EN 50131-7 are enforced, which states that everyone who works in the security industry should be trained and competent in the area that they work.
