Firm secures 30 years of success

Crosby Intruder Alarms was set-up in 1984 by Roy and Ann Williams with the company based on Endbutt Lane.
It has since developed from a small business into one of Merseyside’s leading security alarm companies with links across the UK. A lot has changed since the first day of trading in 1984 and the couple have had to adapt as the role of CCTV has transformed.
The size and quality of cameras is one of the main changes when it comes to technology.
They can now be placed into everyday products such as clocks, smoke detectors and other household objects.
But Crosby Intruder Alarms moved with the times and they can offer such services to family homes and also company properties.
The remarkable success and rise of the business was helped by Roy coming from a television servicing industry, so it was an easy step for him to enter into the CCTV field.
Such is his experience that in 2010, Roy was asked to lecture for a private training company based in Hampshire, called Tavcom Training.
They have a worldwide reputation for offering these courses in countries such as Australia, Canada, South Africa, USA and throughout Europe.
And six years ago, Roy and Ann made the decision to hire a new member of staff – their son Gareth.
Roy, said: “When Ann and I started the business back in 1984, we never envisaged that one day our son Gareth, would come into the company.”
But in 2008 he became part of the team and specialises in IT and Business Development. “He has updated our way of working and with the introduction of ‘smart phones’ and he has made job issuing to engineers far simpler and quicker.”
