Crosby Intruder Alarms are acting now and have already upgraded several systems. We have teamed up with CSL DualCom & BT RedCare to offer you an alternative signalling system for your property. However, before we upgrade your signalling we recommend you contact your Insurance Company to verify that the new proposed signalling system is acceptable to them.

WHO DOES THIS AFFECT?

Unfortunately, the change is happening in all areas of the UK and will affect anyone that uses a traditional PSTN Telephone line regardless of who your line provider is. As Alarm Systems tend to use PSTN Technology to provide the link between your Alarm System and the Alarm Receiving Centre it is vitally important to act as soon as possible to ensure continued signalling.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT UPGRADE OR IGNORE THIS ADVICE?

If you do nothing and decide to ignore our advice and you have a signalling system which uses a PSTN (Analogue) telephone line, then in the event of an alarm activation or critical incident, the information that needs to be sent via the phone line will not be received by the monitoring station. As a worse case scenario, a loss of property, possessions or life could occur.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY INSURANCE IF I DO NOT UPGRADE?

If your Insurance Company has been made aware that you have a monitored alarm system, or there is requirement within your policy that says you have a monitored alarm and it fails to operate due to the signals not being passed to the monitoring station, this could invalidate your insurance.

WHAT IS THE COST OF UPGRADING?

Every upgrade is different as it depends on what type of signalling you currently have. There will be a small one off connection fee but your annual fees will remain as close to your current fees as possible. There may be a small increase depending on what type of signalling system you have, however, you will no longer require a dedicated PSTN Telephone line.

CAN I WAIT UNTIL THE END OF 2025?

Unfortunately, NOwe have several hundred connections to upgrade. Some Telephone Exchanges have already switched over with many more due in the next few months. It is important to act now.
